This is the first post in a series that will chronicle the construction of the Shalom Medical Center in the town of Sanje, in Kyotera District, in Southwestern Uganda. Begun in November of 2019, and scheduled for completion in the fall of 2020, the Shalom Medical Center will provide the Kyotera District with a 10,000 square foot facility featuring an Emergency Room, Surgical Theater, Obstetric Wing with Pre and Post-delivery rooms, General wards for pediatrics, women, and men. Shalom Medical Center will be the only facility of its kind within a 40 mile radius.
The Site Plan
We will be continually referring to this Site Plan to explain the project and the photos of the construction progress. Download PDF
The Clearing
In November, we cleared 2.5 acres of the 5.5 acre site of brush, trees, and termite mounds. The light green area on the Site Plan indicates the 2.5 acres that were cleared.
